[applying oil to your skin]

Fact:  Oil dissolves oil.  One of the most basic principles of chemistry is that "like dissolves like".  The best way to dissolve a non-polar solvent like sebum (the oil in our skin) is to use another non-polar solvent similar in composition: other oils.  The best way to get Essential Oils to penetrate into our skin and work is to use a Fatty "Carrier" Oil. There are lots of these on the market - Fractionated Coconut Oil, Jojoba Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Almond Oil, etc....

The list goes on forever.

So what is the oil that is most similar in composition to the oil that your skin produces? Grapeseed oil.  Grapeseed oil is a Holographic Substance that mimics your body's own secretion and allows your skin to readily absorb it.

Many people think that if they apply oil to their skin, they're going to break-out. This is the most common misconception in the understanding of skincare today. It is only when your skin is lacking the oils it needs to protect itself that it produces more, internally. Break-outs are caused by internal and hormonal factors more than 90% of the time.

Like everything progressive in life, things have to get harder before they get easier. So when you introduce any new products to your Skincare Regimen - it is typical to have break-outs. This is our skin's way of detoxifying and shouldn't last for more than 7-10 days. After your skin purges all of the bacteria, dirt, and debris that may have been hiding underneath on the deeper layers, you should expect a dramatic positive effect of whichever essential oil blend you decide to go with.

Different oils contain different therapeutic properties. Below is a chart of the more common skin problems and which Essential Oils will help.  Simply mix 2-3 drops of essential oil with a pea sized amount of a carrier oil and apply to skin in circular motions.  Night time is best when starting out, as your skin goes through a restorative process when your body is in deep sleep mode and is more apt to absorb the therapeutic properties of the oils.
